Indigenous Admissions
Monaro Higher Education acknowledges the Wangal People, the traditional owners of the land where our campus stands. MHE recognises and honours their continuing connection to lands, waters and communities. We pay respect to their culture and their Elders past, present and emerging.
As part of this respectful acknowledgement, MHE gives special consideration to Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander applicants on a case-by-case basis.
Who is eligible?
To apply for this consideration, you must be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander in
accordance with the Commonwealth definition which means that you:
- are of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, and
- identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, and
- are accepted as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander in the community in which you live or have lived.
Indigenous Admissions Process
First, you will complete an Indigenous Students Special Admissions Test.
Next, you will attend an interview with the Dean. The Dean will gauge your preparedness for higher education.
