Course Requirements

You will complete the Bachelor of Business in twelve study blocks full-time or equivalent part-time. This is generally done over three years, with four blocks per year. The fifth and sixth blocks of each year are optional and let you reduce the length of the course to two years. 

A full-time study load consists of two units per block. Each unit is worth six credit points. Each unit has four hours per week of lectures and two hours of tutorial per week for six weeks. Each unit should require ten hours per week of study, including time spent in classes. If a unit has a final exam, it will be in the seventh week of the block.

There are no nested courses or exit awards.

To qualify for the Bachelor of Business, students must achieve satisfactory grades in twenty-four units (one hundred and forty-four credit points), consisting of:

Advanced Standing

Advanced standing means giving you credit for parts of the course you have already learned before you enrol. This learning might have been in education or on-the-job.

When you apply to study with MHE, you may also apply for advanced standing and provide evidence of which parts of the course you already understand. MHE will look at your educational or employment background to decide if you are eligible.

Eligibility for advanced standing in the Bachelor of Business is normally limited to a maximum of twelve units in the first four trimesters. Please see the Advanced Standing Policy and Advanced Standing Procedures for further information.
