You will develop the sound judgement required to prepare and interpret financial reports targeted at different stakeholders. The expertise available here includes advisory services, taxation, auditing, financial planning, international accounting, investment analysis and strategic planning.
You will not focus only on providing financial information. You will also examine broader social and impacts of your business. You will learn to consider ethical governance and environmental factors and their role in sustaining your business.

If your previous education was not completed in English, one of the following dated not less than two years before the date of application:
You will complete the Master of Professional Accounting (Advanced) in eight study blocks full-time or equivalent part-time. This is generally done over two years, with four blocks per year. The fifth and sixth blocks of each year are optional and let you reduce the length of the course to one year and four months.
A full-time study load consists of two units per block. Each unit is worth six credit points. Each unit has four hours per week of lectures and two hours of tutorial per week for six weeks. Each unit should require ten hours per week of study, including time spent in classes. If a unit has a final exam, it will be in the seventh week of the block.
There are no nested courses or exit awards.
Advanced standing means giving you credit for parts of the course you have already learned before you enrol. This learning might have been in education or on-the-job.
When you apply to study with MHE, you may also apply for advanced standing and provide evidence of which parts of the course you already understand. MHE will look at your educational or employment background to decide if you are eligible.
Eligibility in the Master of Professional Accounting (Advanced) is normally limited to a maximum of eight units in the first two trimesters. Please see the Advanced Standing Policy and Advanced
